Coaldale Figure Skating Club Staff

Jessica Watson

Hey, I’m Coach Jessica! This is my 8th season with the Coaldale Figure Skating Club, and I’m very excited to be leading the coaching team once again. I began skating in Lethbridge when I was 6 years old and spent many years testing and competing, both individually and as a synchronized skater. In 2016, I achieved my Triple Gold testing status and went on to pursue coaching full-time. I’m now a Provincially Trained Coach with over 10 years of experience teaching, working in sport administration, and serving on boards in various skating organizations across Southern Alberta. Along with coaching, I enjoy spending time outdoors, playing card games, or being with my family & friends. Here’s to another great skating season!

Darcie Harper

I am Coach Darcie! I am very excited to be back with the Coaldale Skating Club this year as the off-ice instructor. I started my skating career with the Coaldale Skating Club at the age of six. I achieved my Quad Gold status as a skater with the Lethbridge Skating Club before moving to Cranbrook for school. I coached with the Cranbrook Skating Club for a season. After moving back to Southern Alberta, I started coaching with the Coaldale Skating Club for 4 years before taking a year off. I am very eager to be back with the Club this season, helping the kids to grow and develop their skills and techniques off the ice to achieve their goals on the ice. Happy skating!

Sasha Malmo

Sasha began her figure skating journey at the tender age of 5. From that point on it was always hard to pull her away from the rink. Her love and passion for figure skating continued to grow as she advanced through the levels completing her Quad Gold skating tests in Freeskate, Skating Skills, Interpretive, Ice Dance, and 3 Diamond Dances. Training hard for hours a day, Sasha made it to the Junior Ladies competitive level competing across the province and nation wide. After getting injured and no longer able to compete, Sasha decided to turn her love for the sport into inspiring others through coaching. “A coach has the ability to cause you to either love or hate your sport. My goal is to inspire and help develop that same love and passion for figure skating in my students that my coach (Don Cowan) inspired and helped develop in me.” Sasha currently holds a Provincial level coaching status with many years of experience coaching all ages and levels from Pre-Canskate to Junior Competitive in all disciplines. Along with coaching skating, Sasha co-owns her own dance studio, Expressions Dance, and is a certified personal trainer with the Canadian Fitness Professionals (Canfitpro). Aside from skating, dance, and fitness, Sasha enjoys hiking, swimming, running, movies, board games, and spending time with her family, friends, and cat!

Sierra Enns

Hi, I am going into grade 12 this year and have been skating with Coaldale since I was 9. Last year I took my coaching certification and have enjoyed coaching for the last year. I am very excited to continue through this year as a coach and a skater. Along with skating I also enjoy flute and play in the band at school. After high school I plan on going into kensiology here in Lethbridge. I love spending time with the kiddos and getting to know them through the time we spend together.

Samantha Smith

I have been skating with the CFSC for 13 years and I am currently working on star 5 and 6! I’m 17 years old and am in grade 12 at CPWS. This will be my second year as a CanSkate coach and I am very excited to teach the skaters what I have learned over the years I have skated at the club. I am very excited for this season and seasons to come!
